Current Focus:

In 2011, areas of concern will include renewable energy and greenhouse gas reduction as drivers of sustainable growth, housing, transportation, job creation, business environment issues and tax policy.

Recent Activity & Accomplishments:

  • PBLN joined the Coalition to Protect the 40B Affordable Housing Law
  • Held forums around ideas for zero net-energy buildings, building affordable homes in Massachusetts, and bridging sustainable and affordable development strategies featuring HYM Investment Group Managing Partner Thomas N. O’Brien, Boston Capital Corporation CEO Jack Manning, Center for American Progress Executive VP Sarah Wartell, U.S. Green Buildings Council COO Chris Smith, Boston Redevelopment Authority Director of Economic Development Brenda McKenzie, Goulston & Storrs attorney David Abromowitz, Beacon Communities Development President Pam Goodman, CHAPA President Aaron Gornstein, and Massachusetts State Representative Tom Conroy.
  • A PBLN Task Force has been formed to explore current tax/revenue issues and to consider a range of policy choices that may receive consideration in the public arena in 2011.
